Who Are Chiropractors?
Chiropractors are doctors that have extensive knowledge of human anatomy and physiology and any conditions relating to the neuromusculoskeletal system. They assess, diagnose, and treat conditions related to muscles, nerves, joints, and ligaments. They have a very similar approach to Physiotherapists when treating musculoskeletal conditions but are more educated and trained on performing spinal manipulations. Spinal manipulation is a hands-on technique that helps deliver movement within the joints of the spine and extremities. This not only will help decrease pain and restrictions but also allow for optimal functioning of the nervous system (which is the connection between your brain and spinal cord).
Is Chiropractic Safe?
Chiropractic Manipulation is a safe treatment approach for many conditions. With every other thing in life there are also some risks associated with it. One risk that is very minimal is a possibility of a stroke with cervical manipulation. The statistical rate of this 1/1,000,000 people. There is a greater risk of suffering from a stroke in a medical office versus a chiropractic office. With the possibility of a stroke a thorough assessment will be done prior to any treatment to determine any red flags.
Who can Benefit from a Chiropractor?
Everyone can benefit from chiropractic services, not only limited to manipulations. Chiropractic treatment is safe from even 1-day old babies to our geriatric population. Babies are born with their head out and can result in neck issues during delivery. Our elderly patients deal with lots of spine and joint related complaints as they age. All techniques and forces applied are modified based on the patient. During all this we have children and athletes seeking care from personal or sport injuries as well adults due to workplace stress or personal issues.
What do Chiropractors Treat?
The main reason people seek services from a Chiropractor is for low back pain. As we are doctors for musculoskeletal system this consists of the whole body, so we are not just limited to the spine but also any extremities such as hip, knee, ankle or shoulder, elbow, wrist. Chiropractors treat conditions such as:
- Golfers/tennis elbow
- Low Back Pain
- Neck Pain
- Numbness and Tingling
- Plantar Fasciitis
- Sprain/Strain
- Headaches
- Tendonitis
- Sciatica

– AND MUCH MORE!!
What to expect on your first visit?
Your first visit at the Clinic will consist of a thorough history so the doctor can get a good understanding of your situation. Following a consultation, the doctor will perform a neurological and functional exam to help determine the problem. At this point the doctor will provide the patient with a report of finding which is a detailed explanation of the diagnosis, treatment strategies, and treatment plan. Once the report of findings is complete the patient will provide consent to treatment. The therapist will now provide treatment on the first visit.
